KfW is funding an off-grid concession in the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa and the study was designed to assess the viability and target locations of the concession. Included issues of managing transitions from current energy sources to renewables, willingness/ability to pay, current energy expenditure patterns, marketing requirements, etc.
